This is one of those books I wouldn't have necessarily chosen to buy based on the blurb, but it was free recently as part of a promotion on ARe, and I'd heard good things about Amy Lane, so I bought it without reading the blurb. Boy, am I glad I did.I was blown away by this book. Crying by the end of the first chapter, crying repeatedly throughout the book. One thing I thought frequently as I read was "People can be so cruel," but the cruelty was repeatedly balanced and eventually overcome by kindness and strength of character.I would gladly have paid full price for this book, had I known what was waiting for me inside. I immediately rushed out and bought Chase in Shadow, and devoured it in one day. (review to come on that one, I'm still digesting it)I would wholeheartedly recommend this book.
