Bought this novella last night and read it quickly, as I'd just finished The Duchess War, and it felt almost like jumping back into that story.I have been VERY impressed with the Brothers Sinister so far, I'm so freaking excited that Milan is consistently tackling social issues in her historical romances and she's not just going there, she's going all out. As far as I'm concerned, she just can't write them fast enough to satisfy me.This story was sweet and short, but it wasn't uncomplicated. There was a huge range of depth to both the relationship and the social situation that was the backdrop for the relationship. The one thing I'd have liked to have seen more of was character development of the hero, which seems absurd because he was very well developed, but there was just something I couldn't quite put my finger on with him. Not that this diminished my enjoyment of the story, just a little thing.Overall, a very nice christmas novella. :)
